Washington (Monitoring Desk): Alma Cooper, a U.S. Army Second Lieutenant, has been named Miss USA 2024. This follows a controversial period for the title, which ultimately saw Cooper, a 22-year-old from Michigan, crowned during a ceremony held in Los Angeles on Sunday.
Alma Cooper is a military intelligence officer and has earned a master’s degree in Data Science from Stanford University. Her achievements and professional background were highlighted during the pageant.
On social media, Cooper has shared her experiences as an immigrant, military officer, and proud woman, expressing that she feels she is living her dream.
She emphasized that her life’s lessons and her mother’s guidance have taught her that one’s circumstances do not define one’s destiny, but rather, success comes from striving for the best.
Cooper will represent the United States in the Miss Universe pageant this November.
In May, Novelia Voigt unexpectedly resigned as Miss USA 2023, leading to the title being awarded to the runner-up, 28-year-old Swanna Genkiewicz.
