Pakistan Announces 17-Member Test Squad for Bangladesh Series with New Faces

The first Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh will be played in Rawalpindi from August 21 to 25: Report

Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a 17-member squad for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh. This series will feature two Test matches, and the squad will be led by Shan Masood, with Saud Shakeel serving as the vice-captain.

Saud Shakeel has been appointed as vice-captain in place of Shaheen Shah Afridi, who was previously the vice-captain during the Australia tour. This decision was made considering Shaheen Shah Afridi’s heavy workload during the busy season.

The first Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh will be played in Rawalpindi from August 21 to 25, while the second Test will be held in Karachi from August 30 to September 3.

In addition to the two Tests against Bangladesh, the Pakistan team will play a total of nine Tests and 14 T20Is from August 21, 2024, to April 5, 2025. They are also scheduled to play at least 17 One Day Internationals (ODIs) during the season.

This series will mark Jason Gillespie’s debut as the head coach for red-ball cricket. The squad includes Mohammad Harirah, Kamran Ghulam, and Mohammad Ali, who have shown outstanding performances in domestic cricket and for Pakistan Shaheens.
