Anti-Terrorism Court Confirms Interim Bail for 96 Accused in Kasur Cases

Lahore: The Anti-Terrorism Court has extended the interim bail of key figures in the Shadman arson case, including Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub, Asad Umar, Jamshed Iqbal Cheema, and Musarrat Jamshed Cheema, until October 8.

During the hearing, the duty judge, Arshad Javed, addressed the bail petitions related to the May 9 Shadman arson case. The court granted a one-day exemption request for Omar Ayub and Asad Umar, who were unable to attend. The request was based on Asad Umar’s illness and Omar Ayub’s involvement in other court cases in Islamabad.

Jamshed Iqbal Cheema, Musarrat Jamshed Cheema, and other accused appeared before the court. After completing the attendance requirements, the court extended their interim bail until October 8.

Additionally, the Anti-Terrorism Court has confirmed the interim bails for 96 accused in cases registered on May 9 in Kasur. Judge Arshad Javed presided over the bail hearings. The cases involve charges at Thana Allahabad, Thana A Division Kasur, and Thana Khiddiyan Kasur.
