Lahore – The birth anniversary of the final Prophet, Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ, will be celebrated today (Tuesday), corresponding to 12th Rabi’ al-Awwal, with great religious devotion and respect. Both federal and provincial governments have declared a public holiday for this occasion.
In celebration of Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ, streets, neighborhoods, and markets across the country have been beautifully illuminated with lights, electric bulbs, and green flags. Government and private buildings are also adorned with decorative lights. Additionally, arches and decorative gates have been erected along many markets and highways. Devotees are creating models of the Kaaba and Masjid Nabawi ﷺ to express their reverence for the Prophet ﷺ.
Numerous gatherings will be held nationwide, featuring recitations of Darood and salutations, as well as Naat (poetry in praise of the Prophet ﷺ). Seminars and conferences on the life of the Prophet ﷺ and the efforts made to elevate Islam will also be conducted. Processions will be held throughout the country, with participants reciting Darood-e-Pak along the route. Special arrangements have been made for distributing food in honor of Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ.
Scholars emphasize that true devotion to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ requires not only mentioning his noble character but also adhering to his teachings. Following his example is essential for success in both this world and the hereafter.
To ensure the safety and security of the celebrations, law enforcement agencies have implemented rigorous security measures. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has instructed that comprehensive security be provided for Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ events across the province, including Lahore. He emphasized that security will be on high alert with close monitoring of any potential threats.
In Lahore, 255 processions and over 225 gatherings are scheduled. More than 10,000 officers, personnel, and volunteers will be deployed to ensure security. The security arrangements will utilize both traditional and modern policing methods, with coordination from police, traffic police, elite forces, special branch, and counter-terrorism departments.
IG Punjab has also directed that all processions and gatherings be categorized and security protocols be strictly followed. In sensitive cities, security cameras will assist in monitoring events. Coordination with district-level peace committees, religious scholars, and community leaders will be maintained. Continuous monitoring of security arrangements will be carried out from control rooms, with immediate attention to any issues.
