Forest Department Launches Crackdown on Illegal Timber Harvesting in Attock

Lahore: Following directives from Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, the Forest Department has initiated a crackdown against individuals involved in illegal timber harvesting and transportation in Attock.

The department has imposed a complete ban on logging and the movement of timber from both government and privately owned lands in Attock, alongside the enforcement of Section 144. The Forest Department has taken strong action against illegal timber transportation.

During the operation, authorities seized two Mazda trucks, one Bedford truck, two tractor-trailers, and two Ford vans loaded with timber. Cases have been registered under Section 188 for these violations.

A spokesperson for the Forest Department stated that they are committed to ensuring the protection of forests and will exert all efforts to curb illegal logging and transportation. Those involved in such activities will face appropriate penalties.
