Lahore: Pakistan recorded a notable increase in mobile phone manufacturing and assembly in March 2026, with a 20% year-on-year growth.
According to data released by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, local manufacturers assembled 2.79 million units in March 2026, compared to 2.33 million units in March 2025.
During the first quarter of 2026, total production reached 7.36 million units, reflecting a 2% increase compared to the same period last year.
The report noted that Pakistan is now meeting 86% of its mobile phone demand through locally manufactured handsets. Experts say this reflects the growing maturity of the country’s handset assembly ecosystem and indicates gradual resolution of supply chain challenges.
