President Trump announces temporary halt to Project Freedom
“Significant progress has been made toward a comprehensive agreement with Iran,” he says

Washington: US President Donald Trump has announced a temporary suspension of “Project Freedom,” aimed at freeing vessels stranded in the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement, Trump said the decision was made following mutual understanding with Iran. He added that significant progress has been achieved toward a comprehensive and final agreement.
Trump noted that the suspension was also made at the request of Pakistan and other countries. However, he emphasized that US sanctions on Iran will continue with full force and effect.
He said the project would be paused briefly while the US assesses whether a final agreement with Iran is reached and formally signed.
