Additional IG Traffic Orders Crackdown on Unlicensed Motorcyclists Across the Province
Under the Outreach Program, Driving License Services are Being Provided at Citizens' Doorsteps - Mirza Farhan Baig
Lahore: Additional IG Traffic, Mirza Farhan Baig, has directed an intensified crackdown on motorcyclists without licenses throughout the province. In a recent directive to all CTOs (Chief Traffic Officers) and DTOs (Deputy Traffic Officers), he emphasized that actions against unlicensed motorcyclists must continue rigorously and without exception.
According to a spokesperson, this month alone, the traffic police have set up checkpoints on highways, checking licenses for over 490,000 motorcyclists. The traffic police have issued 126,729 fines to motorcyclists operating without licenses. Additionally, a significant number of unlicensed motorcycles have been impounded at police stations.
The traffic police are issuing over 30,000 driving licenses daily on average. Additional IG Traffic Mirza Farhan Baig noted that the outreach program is providing driving license services directly to citizens at their doorstep. For the first time in the country’s history, such a large number of motorcyclists are receiving these services promptly.
Citizens are obtaining their licenses through online facilities, offices, and service centers. In major cities, licensing services are available 24 hours a day, while in smaller cities, services are available for 16 hours. The traffic police are committed to providing excellent services to citizens visiting licensing offices, service centers, and all other relevant locations.
