“Come to Punjab and See How Tough We Are”: Faisal Vawda
Vawda emphasized that he would not engage in petty politics or target anyone's family
Islamabad: Senior political leader Senator Faisal Vawda delivered a fiery speech outside Parliament House, criticizing various political factions and making bold statements about the current political climate.
Speaking to the media, Vawda addressed the duplicity of political parties, stating, “Whether it’s Party A, B, or C, they beg for mercy behind closed doors while acting tough publicly. This drama cannot continue where we allow insults against our mothers, sisters, and daughters. Come to Punjab, Sindh, or Islamabad, and we’ll see who has the real courage.”
Vawda emphasized that he would not engage in petty politics or target anyone’s family, stating, “We are not engaging in this type of politics. If anyone tries to act tough, we can match that toughness.” He expressed his intent to bring down those currently flying high in the government, saying, “I know how to bring down those flying high in jets.”
He also challenged the founder of PTI, questioning, “Who is he representing now?” Vawda suggested that the situation had escalated to a national level battle, adding, “The threads and connections related to Arshad Sharif’s death are beginning to surface. If I tweet about this, no one will be able to show their face.”
Reiterating his commitment to dignified politics, Vawda stated, “I will not indulge in low-level politics or target anyone’s family. If they engage in tough talk, we are ready to respond in kind.” He referenced past statements by Ali Amin Gandapur, noting, “He previously claimed no one could lock anyone up, then showed that he could. He also said no one could send anyone to jail, and then did just that.”
Vawda further highlighted the role of media personnel, emphasizing respect, “Media anchors and female journalists are our sisters and daughters. They work hard and earn an honorable livelihood.” He criticized the notion of appointing individuals with rape allegations to significant positions, questioning, “What will remain if such individuals are placed in important roles?”
On the government’s handling of the Ministry of Interior, Vawda remarked, “The government has reduced the Ministry of Interior to selling snacks. I work based on merit in these jets and helicopters, and I will not allow Pakistan to become a cricket team.”
Regarding the Arshad Sharif case, Vawda claimed, “We were only told 40 years later that Bhutto’s execution was a mistake. Arshad Sharif was my friend, and his innocent blood will not go in vain. This case involves a retired general, so it will be tried in a military court.”
He concluded by addressing recent events involving Gandapur and his associates, saying, “Gandapur came and ate snacks yesterday. Next time, we will not use jammers to block phones, and we have prepared snacks ourselves.” Vawda also commented on Parliament, saying, “If I talk about jail and breaking the country, and then seek refuge in Parliament, what kind of parliamentarians are these?”
Finally, Vawda acknowledged his previous close ties with the founder of PTI but noted, “I have not met General Faiz.”
