PTI leaders Asad Qaiser and Salman Akram Raja criticize denial of rights to party founder

Imran Khan was taken to PIMS Hospital without informing his family, a move he strongly condemned

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Qaiser has said that the party’s founder is being deprived of his legal and constitutional rights, adding that “the country has effectively become a banana republic.”
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad alongside Salman Akram Raja and Mohammad Zubair, Salman Akram Raja said that even an ordinary prisoner cannot be denied medical facilities. He added that PTI founder Imran Khan was taken to PIMS Hospital without informing his family, a move he strongly condemned.
He further stated that despite clear directions from the High Court allowing meetings, the orders were not implemented. He alleged that since November, the former prime minister’s family has not been allowed to meet him and called for the Supreme Court to take up the case and hear their petition.
Asad Qaiser, addressing the same press conference, reiterated that the PTI founder is not being granted his basic rights, saying the situation reflects a serious breakdown in rule of law.
